It’s always a good time to learn

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go.” This is one of Dr Seuss’ many quotes but, this is one quote that holds true for everyone. I feel that we can never stop learning, despite how much you think you already know, there is so much more that you don’t. In our profession, it is vital for us to continue our learning to ensure we are keeping up-to-date.

We were delighted to be training more budding implant dentists at our clinic. The students are treating live patients at our clinic under the mentoring and guidance of experienced Implant surgeons. Learning from experienced surgeons allows the students to learn the techniques that have taken us years to develop. At the same time, the students are giving us the opportunity to reflect on areas of our work which we may have overlooked previously. As a result, we are learning as well and aiming to improving our own techniques and teaching.

The International Team of Implantology

The ITI is a leading academic organisation dedicated to promoting education and research in the field of Implant Dentistry. Being part of this organisation allows us to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in our profession. Myself and Dr Hannah Wilson will be attending the international Dental Implant event this week along with approximately 5000 dentists from around the world. The ITI event serves as a meeting point for all those who are eager to learn about and experience these latest findings within the field presented by an international faculty of top speakers.

I’m sure our attendance at this event will help us further improve the care we provide for our patients.
