Full arch dentistry to transform our patient’s life

For those of you who follow our weekly blogs, you will appreciate how proud we are of the treatment we provide to our patients. We are able to provide life-changing dental care to our patients, restoring their smile, confidence and quality of life. This week I will discuss 2 cases involving  full arch dentistry that we have treated at our clinic.

Both of these patients had presented to our clinic requiring a functional and aesthetic full upper arch of replacement teeth. The first patient still had a few remaining upper teeth which were very loose due to advanced periodontal disease. The second patient had also suffered from periodontal disease resulting in the loss of all of his upper teeth.

Following careful planning and treatment by our dental team, both patients were provided with fixed replacement teeth to replace all of their missing upper teeth. The teeth are supported by titanium dental implants that are tightly integrated with the underlying bone – providing a solid foundation for the teeth. The teeth are artistically milled from zirconia which provides an extremely strong tooth structure with a natural aesthetic appearance. This combination of materials will result in the patient’s being able to eat anything they want to and also have an aesthetic smile.

In both of these cases, the teeth were fitted and then the patient’s were reviewed a week later. At the fit stage, neither patient was able to fully grasp what had just happened and how this would influence their lives. The emotional and physical shock of the transformation was too much to take in all at once. However, 1 week later, both patients were completely transformed. They seemed like different individuals, having learned how to smile again and be more confident in their facial expressions. Both patients have already seen a huge improvement to their quality of life and will continue to do so in the future. It never ceases to amaze me how much more positive our patients are when they have had treatment to confidently smile and eat again. It truly is life changing and it is an absolute privilege to work alongside such a skilled and proud team.
