A story with a happy ending….

Gum disease

A young girl attended my surgery 1 year ago with a traumatic experience of dentistry and all things teeth related. All of her teeth were suffering from uncontrolled gum disease. This was resulting in her teeth becoming loose and drifting.

I constructed a one year plan for this patient to save as many teeth as we could and replace the ones we couldn’t. It was vital that we controlled the gum disease before anything as this was the root cause of all of these problems.

After thorough treatment from our Hygienist and removal of the very loose lower teeth, we achieved healthy pink gums and stabilised her teeth. They were not loose anymore!

Dental Implants and Invisalign

The process of restoring her smile could now begin – now that the remaining teeth were in good health. I placed dental implants in the lower arch to replace the missing teeth. Invisalign was also used to correct the positioning of the upper teeth to improve her appearance and bite.

Result!

The final result was a beautiful and functional smile. This was a truly satisfying result for all of us to be involved with. The patient called it life changing, and I was privilaged to treat this patient.

For this patient it had been a long journey to restore her dental health. This is why I find my job the best job in the world for me. I wouldn’t change it for anything…
