A successful day of learning….

Posted on 16th November 2019

Most dental courses are hands-on and have a practical side to them due to the nature of our job. I have had the pleasure of working alongside and mentoring some of the most skilled dentists in Implant dentistry. We have found that one of the biggest obstacles for dentists wanting to provide Implant dentistry within their own practices is the training of the wider team. So many dentists attend courses to enhance their own knowledge and scope of practice however, not as many courses are available for dental nurses to also improve their own knowledge and skills in Implant dentistry.

We provided this course last week and it has been a great success. We have had so many nurses wanting to book onto the course and in fact we could have run the course with many more nurses. We covered the theory behind implants and osseointegration as well as the theory and practicality of the aseptic surgical techniques. The theoretical part of the course took place in the education suite and the practical part of the course was provided in the working surgeries at the dental practice. The feedback from both nurses and dentists has been great.

This was meant to be a one off course to help our referring dentists and colleagues provide the training required for implant dentistry. However, due to the high demand for this course I am pleased to confirm that we will be running a few more nurse training days in 2020!

If you’re interested in this or any of our other courses, please send us a message. We will be releasing dates for the courses in 2020 soon.
