What are the benefits of Dental Implants?

Compared to alternative options, dental implants not only look natural, but they also function like your own teeth. It is even possible to replace all your teeth with a full mouth of fixed dental implants, or an implant retained denture. The benefits of having Dental Implants include:

  • Replace loose dentures
  • Maintain your bone structure following tooth loss
  • Function and feel like natural teeth
  • Improve the appearance of your smile
  • Improve chewing and speaking
  • Preserves the health of adjacent and surrounding teeth
  • Provides a long term permanent solution
  • Dental Implants at Infinity Dental Clinic have the highest success rates across UK dentistry

Replacing missing teeth is important in order to preserve the health and biological structure of your teeth, gums and jawbone. Without teeth your face can lose its shape and start to look aged. Dental Implants help to retain your natural face structure and shape, which can significantly boost your confidence.

Many of our patients describe their Dental Implants as being even better than their original teeth. They are delighted to bite down on a steak for the first time in years, or to enjoy a refreshingly cool ice cream free from the fear of triggering an ache from sensitive teeth. On the whole, getting Dental Implants will enable you to enjoy your life and the pleasures of a good meal once more.

Fixed Dental Implants to Replace Missing Teeth

Dental Implants are the nearest tooth replacement to your own natural teeth. They provide an excellent solution if you have lost, or are about to lose any of your teeth and also if you are suffering with loose dentures. Traditional dentures can often be loose and will not provide the function or appearance of your natural teeth. With Dental Implants there is no need to compromise – you will have permanent teeth that are fixed in place which do not need to be removed from the mouth. You will be able to bite, chew, speak and laugh as you did with your natural teeth.

What is a Dental Implant?

Straumann Dental Implant world leading implant system A dental implant is made up of 2 main sections. An artificial titanium tooth ‘root’ and an aesthetic ceramic crown. This not only results in the appearance and function of a natural tooth, but will also help preserve the underlying bone structure, reducing further bone loss. In addition, dental implants are ‘stand alone’ and do not risk damaging the neighbouring teeth as can happen with partial dentures and dental bridges.

Dental Implants can replace all of your teeth

If you have missing teeth or you are struggling with ill-fitting dentures then Dental Implants are often the best solution. At Infinity Dental Clinic, Leeds, we understand that losing all of your teeth can be a traumatic experience and we will ensure that your treatment journey is as stress‐free as possible. Our team provide the revolutionary Same Day Teeth on dental implants approach to minimise the disruption to patient’s lives during the treatment process.

We will be there to support you all the way. Upon completion of your Dental Implant treatment we will be delighted to hear about all of the foods you have finally managed to eat again and the social occasions you have been able to attend without worrying about your teeth.

It is possible to replace your teeth with a full mouth of fixed dental implants, or a removable implant retained denture.

Stages of Dental Implant treatment

At Infinity Dental Clinic, we use the latest and most up-to-date digital CBCT Scanners and digital intra oral scanners to provide our patients with the highest standards of dental treatment. We are one of only a few dental practices in the UK to provide the latest Digital Dental techniques enabling us to meticulously plan your treatment to minimise the time you have to spend in the treatment room.

Our team is very passionate and dedicated in providing the highest standards in Implant dentistry.

  • Following your CBCT scan and consultation with our Implant team, led by Dr Mohsin Patel, you will be provided with a detailed bespoke dental report. This will include the clinical and radiographic findings, the treatment options, timescales, what the procedures will involve and the associated fees.

You can read about what we do at the consultation by clicking here.

  • A scan of your mouth is taken and used to manufacture a bespoke surgical ‘guide’. This may be required to ensure that each individual implant is carefully placed into the optimum position. Implant positioning is the single most important factor influencing success rates and our team ensure all of our implants are in the best biological position.

  • Dental Implant placement is a minor oral surgery procedure, performed under the same Local Anaesthesia used in routine dental treatments. As an alternative, we also conduct the treatment using dental sedation if you are anxious about any aspect of the treatment. The Implant is placed into the bone to replicate a natural tooth root. If bone regeneration has been planned at the consultation stage then this is usually done at the same time as the Dental Implant placement. The area is then neatly closed and the implant is allowed to integrate. You will leave with a replacement temporary tooth where the Dental Implant has been placed to ensure you are never left without your tooth.

  • Dental Implants can take between 6 weeks and 3 months to osseointegrate or ‘bond’ with the underlying bone. You should expect to feel little or no pain during this period.

  • Once the Dental Implant has integrated, it is ready to have the crown fitted. We are one of only a few dental practices in the UK to provide the latest Digital Dental techniques enabling us to perform Dentistry with optimum precision. Our in house Digital Scanners allows us to provide the highest standards in restorative Implant Dentistry at our clinic.

All of our dental restorations are made at our industry leading in-house dental laboratory ensuring we have full control over the quality of our dental prostheses. Our dental laboratory is equipped with the latest technology to produce the highest standards in dental restorations. Each restoration is individually made to ensure no two smiles ever look the same – it truly is customised for every patient.

We work with experienced dental technicians, who specialise in making natural looking teeth for Dental Implants. The new implant supported teeth will be made to blend in naturally with the rest of your teeth. The ‘tooth’ is simply screwed into the Implant. Screw retained implant crowns provide the most precise fit between implant and crown.

What is gum shaping around Dental Implants?

At Infinity Dental Clinic we believe that Dental Implants must look and function like natural teeth. We provide our patients with the highest standards of aesthetic techniques to ensure that the implant teeth mimic natural teeth in every way for both health and aesthetic benefits.

The gum and soft tissues around the Dental Implant needs to be carefully manipulated to provide a similar contour to that seen on the adjacent teeth. Rather than simply accepting a compromised result, in these cases we provide our patients with a gum graft and a prototype Dental Implant restoration. The contour of the gums around the dental implants can be carefully sculpted to mimic natural teeth and provide a ‘seal’ around your dental implant.

This is the true test of a replacement tooth – to look exactly like it’s neighbouring tooth.

For more detailed information on how we perform the art of gum shaping at our clinic, please have a look at our detailed blog on this topic by clicking this text.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We can use Dental Implants to replace one or several adjacent missing teeth. Larger gaps created by two, three or more missing teeth do not necessarily need an individual implant for each tooth. We can fit three or four teeth on a bridge supported by two Dental Implants. The exact number of Dental Implants required will depend on the results of your consultation with our implant team. Read our blog on how we can replace 2 teeth with 1 dental implant by clicking this link.

  • Most adults with good general health will be suitable for Dental Implant treatment. Your Implant consultation will include a medical history, thorough clinical examination, photographs, a digital intra-oral scan and x-rays. We will also take a digital CT scan of your mouth for anatomical assessment using our in house CBCT scanner.

Following your assessment, our implant team will calculate the optimum size and position of your Dental Implant. If this demonstrates that the underlying bone is deficient, a simple bone regeneration procedure will be provided alongside your treatment.

We understand that all cases are different, so if you have any questions please contact our treatment coordinator for a complimentary consultation.

  • In most cases this is a routine procedure carried out alongside Dental Implant placement. It involves simply adding bone graft material around the implant, to ‘bulk out’ the underlying bone. This repairs any bone damage caused due to previous infection, gum disease, trauma or extraction. We use Geistlich, the world’s leading bioactive bone graft materials which improve your bone quality and density, allowing for better ‘attachment’ of your dental implant to your bone.

  • At Infinity Dental Clinic we understand that your time is valuable, and so we aim to complete it in as timely manner as possible. Dental implant treatment on average will take 3 months to complete.

We also understand that no one wants to spend time with a ‘gap’, therefore, we are able to provide immediate tooth replacement solutions from day one.

  • Dental Implant treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia and so we will ensure that you will not be able to feel any pain throughout the appointment. There are no nerves, unlike when treating teeth, and so many patients find it a lot more comfortable than other dental treatments. If patients are worried about the procedure then it can also be carried out under sedation. We will be supporting you every step of the way to minimise any disruption to your life during the treatment period.

  • Dental Implants will look and feel very much like a natural tooth. You should clean them in the same way as you clean your own natural teeth, our hygienist will demonstrate this to you.

Regular dental check-ups are important to ensure that we can keep your teeth and implants healthy.

  • Well-maintained Dental Implants can be expected to last for many years and, in most cases, a lifetime. 97% are still there after 20 years.

  • Here at Infinity Dental Clinic we work hard to find a solution that meets all our patients expectations on desired outcome both clinically and financially. We will supply you with all relevant treatment options and the associated fees involved, allowing you to make the right decision for yourself regarding your dental care. For guidance on fees, please use this link to our fee and finance page.

We will provide you with a bespoke dental report. This will consist of an overview of your current dental condition and all of the treatment options available. We understand that this is a big decision and that is why we want to give you the time to consider the information. Our team will be available to answer all of your questions.

We also offer a range of finance options which can be discussed with our experienced treatment coordinators to help you spread the investment in a manageable way.

Lyndsey C

Dental Implants

After years of deliberation I final decided to bite the bullet and actively look into having dental Implants. After some research and recommendations I decided to make an appointment at Infinity Dental Clinic.
My initial appointment was with Dr Patel, who is very friendly and immediately puts you at ease. After an examination and some x-rays he explained to me what he considered the best course of action would be. He then followed that up with a detailed document explaining my options and prices.
I decided to go for same day teeth as I didn’t like the idea of wearing a denture. The procedure itself was almost pain free and I came out with a lovely smile. The days following were not so great, as I’m sure you can imagine there is lots of swelling and bruising this took just over a week to settle down and then I was back to normal.
So yesterday my final teeth were ready and fitted and I absolutely love them. Dr Patel and myself worked on getting the best teeth with a couple of trials. It was easy for me to explain to Dr Patel what I liked and what I didn’t like as he was very easy to talk to and took my opinions into consideration.
I can not recommend Infinity Dental Clinic enough. All the staff are just absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at ease.
Thank you to all the team I just can’t stop smiling

I can’t praise Dr Patel and the team enough for what they have done for me.
The team are really friendly and made me feel welcome from day one,
I had a full top arch replacement and I am so happy with the final result and I can now eat without any pain and also smile without covering my face allowing me to enjoy life again.
The work Dr Patel did was fantastic and I can honestly say I had no pain during any of the procedures, the team were honest from the start and answered any questions that I had and were very supportive.
I will be continuing to visit the clinic for any treatment going forward and I would definitely recommend them to anyone requiring dental treatment who are nervous or anxious.
Thanks guys for all the help, care and treatment over the last 10 months.

Dental Implants

After suffering for many years with loose and missing teeth in my lower arch I finally decided to attend Infinity Dental Clinic to seek help. I had a full lower arch fitted on 4 straumann dental implants approximately 5 years ago. I have written this review now to confirm that, even after 5 years, I still feel as happy as I was back then. The implant treatment has fully transformed the quality of my life. I can now eat, speak and smile with total confidence. I recommend this treatment to everyone and anyone, Dr Mohsin Patel provides the highest standard of treatment and my implants have the most natural feel and look. I am very proud of my teeth.
