I’m writing this as we approach Easter, the first bank holiday of the year. It’s always a natural pause point. A chance to reflect on how the year has gone so far, both personally and professionally.
For me, today’s reflection centres around a patient I’ve just finished treating.
She came to see me some time ago. A genuinely lovely person. Warm, patient, and quietly resilient. She’d been living with dental problems for years. Her upper teeth were severely crowded, many of them failing, and there were underlying issues that had gradually worsened over time. Interestingly, she wasn’t in pain, which meant she had learned to live with it. But her teeth weren’t healthy, and it was affecting her confidence more than anything else.

Her smile told a story she didn’t feel comfortable sharing.
When she came in for her consultation, we took the time to really understand what was going on. After a full assessment and CT scan, we talked through her options carefully. The best path forward was clear. We needed to replace many of the failing upper teeth, while also restoring and protecting the lower teeth, most of which we could save.
This kind of treatment is never just one thing. It’s a combination. Replacing what can’t be saved, restoring what can, and bringing everything back into balance, both functionally and aesthetically.

One of the most important parts of her treatment was making sure she never had to go without teeth. On the day we removed the failing upper teeth, we fitted a fixed set of implant-supported teeth immediately. Same day teeth.
That meant she walked in with problems, and walked out with a smile.
No gap. No hiding away. No pause on life.
Over the following months, we allowed everything to heal properly. Then today, just before the Easter break, we fitted her final set of teeth. The result is truly life-changing. Not just in how it looks, but in how she carries herself.

She can smile freely now. And that’s everything.
Cases like this are a powerful reminder of why I do what I do. It’s not just about teeth. It’s about confidence, comfort, and giving people a version of themselves they feel proud of.

As we head into the Easter break, I’m feeling grateful. For patients like her, and for the work we get to do every day.
