This week, we completed a truly life-changing journey with a wonderful patient. What made this case even more special was that he came to us on the recommendation of his close friend, who is also a dentist. To have a fellow professional trust me with their friend’s care was an honour and a privilege.
Now, just in time for Christmas, this gentleman has a brand-new smile and a renewed confidence. What a festive season he will enjoy with his family!
A Challenging Case
When he first arrived, he was suffering from advanced periodontal disease, with very loose teeth and many already missing. X-rays revealed significant bone loss, with some areas showing complete absence of bone.
For many, this situation feels hopeless, with dentures seeming like the only option. But with advanced techniques, we can regenerate bone and provide a permanent solution.
Advanced Bone Reconstruction and Straumann Implants
To restore his bone structure, we performed advanced bone reconstruction, rebuilding the areas where bone was completely lost. This gave us a solid foundation for Straumann implants, the gold standard in implant dentistry worldwide.
We placed all-on-6 implants in the upper arch and all-on-4 in the lower arch, supporting full sets of permanent teeth. These teeth look natural, function beautifully, and allow him to enjoy his meals, smile confidently, and live life to the fullest.
A Festive Transformation
Completing this transformation just before Christmas has made it all the more rewarding. Knowing he’ll be celebrating with his family, eating his favourite festive treats and smiling in every photo, is the greatest gift for all of us.
