Our patient attended our clinic, like so many people, suffering with a denture she had been weaaring for over 20 years!
20 years of accepting that she couldn’t eat certain foods, speak in certain ways and laugh in front of others freely. She had learned how to adapt to wearing a removable acrylic denture to in her upper arch.
Just because she had learned to ‘cope’ with this didn’t make life any easier or better for her.
She had read about what we could do at our clinic and decided to pay us a visit. To learn if after 20+ years she could finally improve her life through her teeth.
We provided a CBCT scan and advised that after 20 years of having no teeth, she had expected bone loss in her upper arch. However, our team could rebuild her missing bone volume using bone grafts. A meticulous plan was offered to this patient. We would use dental implants to support a fully fied prostheses in her upper arch. She decided now was the time to finally end her troubles associated with her denture.
The treatment was completed last week to provide her with fixed permanent teeth, that looked and felt like real teeth and provided her with full function again. 20 years is a long time! She didn’t know how to smile without automatically covering her mouth with her hand. It may take her time to stop doing that – breaking a 20 year habit is not a quick task! She will enjoy learning how to do all the things she had learned to avoid. She will enjoy being free to be herself around everyone and anyone. We are so happy for her, it is truly life changing for her and her family.

Her daughter was so delighted for her mum that she baked us all a lovely gift to say thank you. From myself and our team – thank you too – to everyone who continues to put their trust and healthcare in our hands. We are very proud to continue to help patients achieve the dental health and smile they deserve.
