For this patient, treatment was about far more than replacing missing teeth. It was about helping him get back a part of himself that he felt he’d lost.
When he first came to see us, his confidence had taken a real knock. He had loose and missing teeth, struggled to eat comfortably and had stopped smiling. If he went out for a meal, he had to choose soft foods, and he described his teeth simply as “a mess”.
His story made his reasons for wanting treatment even more meaningful.
Ten years ago, he had his prostate removed following cancer, followed by radiotherapy a year later. During that difficult period of his life, looking after himself and his teeth understandably wasn’t his priority.
Now retired, he was ready to do something for himself.

Next year will mark 10 years cancer-free, and he’s planning a get-together to celebrate. He wanted to reach that milestone feeling able to smile, eat and socialise with confidence again.
