Some cases stay with you. This is one of them.
When our patient first came to see us at the start of the year, she told me she had been unhappy with her smile since she was nineteen. Stained bonding, missing teeth, a sensitive front crown and receding gums had slowly worn away her confidence. She avoided photographs, covered her mouth when she spoke and, in her own words, had been “avoiding life.”
She wanted implants but worried she wouldn’t be suitable. Like many patients who come to us, she had spent years assuming a fixed smile was out of reach.

The plan
After a thorough assessment, we planned a full-arch implant restoration for her upper teeth. In June she had her surgery: her remaining upper teeth were removed, a bone graft was placed and four implants were inserted. She went home with a temporary denture that already looked fantastic while everything healed.
Crafted in-house
Her final teeth were custom made in our own laboratory, Dentogenics, based at our Harrogate clinic. Having our technicians under the same roof means every detail (the shape, shade and proportion of each tooth) is designed around her face, her lips and her smile.
The result
Her permanent, fixed teeth have now been fitted, in a calm and comfortable appointment. They don’t come out, and they look completely natural. The before and after photographs in this post speak for themselves.
Her journey took her to both our Leeds and Harrogate clinics, and she was looked after by the whole team along the way: reception, our advisors, dental nurses and hygienists, each of whom answered her concerns with care and patience.

What matters most
For me, the best part isn’t the photographs. It’s what she wrote afterwards: that she hasn’t stopped smiling since, and that all the worrying was for nothing.
Trusting the process isn’t easy when you’ve felt self-conscious for years. Our job is to make every step feel manageable, explain everything clearly and never rush anyone.
