“It truly is a life changing experience”

This week’s blog is about a treatment we completed using our same day teeth approach. This patient travelled from Manchester seeking help with his failing dentition. He had lost his confidence in his smile and his ability to chew was compromised. Despite these advanced problems with his failing teeth, the thought of being without any teeth was something the patient wanted to avoid. He knew he needed to have his teeth replaced however, his reluctance to pursue treatment in the past was due to the fear of being without teeth during the treatment.

At our clinic we provide the same day teeth approach to replace patient’s failing dentition. This means that our patients can have fixed replacement teeth from the beginning of their treatment journey. They spend no time at all without teeth. At the end of the first day of treatment, the patient was leaving our clinic with fixed teeth in both arches and a smile he could be proud of. The overall treatment to replace a full arch of teeth using dental implants can take approximately 3-6 months. During this time our patient was already enjoying his immediate smile improvement with his same day teeth.

This ‘same day smile‘ would last him 6 months whilst we wait for his gums, bone and implants to fully heal and integrate with each other. During this time, the patient’s quality of life had already significantly improved since that first day procedure.

The final smile was carefully created using digital simulations and feedback from our patient. We want to ensure that each final smile is created to be a bespoke fit for our patients. On the final day, we simply remove the initial same day teeth and replaced them with the final prostheses. This takes no longer than an hour to do as the teeth are now being attached to the fully healed implants above gum level.
