It’s always a pleasure to share cases like this, and we’re delighted with the final result for our patient. The results are honestly better than we could have imagined, and most importantly, our patient is thrilled. After years of uncertainty and ongoing treatment, she can finally put this chapter behind her.
Our patient first attended after suffering a fall as a child that damaged her upper front teeth. They had fractured, the nerve had died off and one of them had become very discoloured. Over the years, she had undergone orthodontic treatment and root canal treatment on her upper central incisors. She had been wearing her retainers at night, but more recently she became less vigilant and noticed her teeth beginning to move. At the same time, a long-standing filling started to wear down, leaving her worried that it might fail altogether.
She came to us unsure whether the tooth could still be saved or if an implant might be her only option. After a thorough assessment and careful consideration of her age and dental history, we felt strongly that preserving her natural tooth was the best approach. Our goal was to strengthen the tooth, improve her smile, and provide a long-term solution without unnecessary invasive treatment.
By this point, she had understandably had enough. This had been an ongoing issue since she was just 12 years old, and she wanted it resolved once and for all.
What the Patient Wanted to Achieve
Her wishes were clear:
- Close the gaps between her teeth
- Straighten her smile
- Whiten her teeth
- Replace the old filling on UL1
- Improve her overall confidence
Following a detailed consultation to fully understand her expectations, we agreed on a phased treatment plan that would be effective, predictable, and as minimally invasive as possible.

The Treatment Plan
We began with Invisalign to straighten the teeth and close the spacing. The patient was fantastic with her aligners and found them easy to fit into daily life. The orthodontic phase went smoothly and set a strong foundation for the next steps.
Once alignment was complete, we moved on to whitening. The aim was a beautifully bright shade that still looked natural and suited her face, which we achieved successfully.
The final stage was restoring UL1 with a crown to improve both strength and appearance. Matching a single upper front tooth is one of the most challenging tasks in dentistry, but our in-house lab, Dentogenics, did an exceptional job. The result blends seamlessly and you genuinely cannot tell which tooth is the crown.
The Final Result
We are over the moon with the transformation. The result is natural, aesthetic, and most importantly, minimally invasive. At a time when many young patients are choosing aggressive treatments abroad, we’re proud to have delivered such a healthy, conservative outcome that protects the teeth and avoids potential lifelong complications.
This case is a great reminder that with careful planning and the right approach, it’s often possible to save natural teeth while still achieving a beautiful smile.
