Many patients attend our clinic to pursue treatment for full mouth rehabilitation. This often involves replacing missing and failing teeth. Periodontal disease and dental decay are the 2 main dental diseases that result in patient’s losing all of their teeth.
It is obviously a daunting prospect for anyone to have to lose all of their teeth. Our same day teeth approach enables us to replace all of our patient’s teeth without them ever being left without fixed teeth. The same day approach means our patients had fixed teeth during the whole treatment process. It is an improtant way to help our patients maintain their quality of life during their dental treatment.
Our patient attended our clinic with advanced periodontal disease. This is a highly prevalent dental disease that affect over 60% of the adult population. It results in bone loss and gum recession and over a period of time, can result in the teeth becoming loose and less stable.
In advanced cases of periodontal disease, the only solution is to remove and replace the teeth alongside treatment to restore the bone and gum volume. Our patient was very concerned about being left without any teeth during this treatment. The treatment can take 6-9 months to complete therefore, it is very improtant that our patients are provided with a good temporary soltuion during the interim period. Our same day approach ensures that the patient still had fixed teeth from the very moment her failing teeth were removed.
During the treatment phase we worked closely together with our patient to design the perfect smile for her. Everything is custom made for the patient so we can be very meticulous with the smile design.
The patient was delighted with her final smile and I was very proud that we managed to do this for the patient whilst maintaining her quality of life during the process. Our full mouth solutions really do provide life changing dentistry to our patients.
