Straighter teeth – the easy way, INVISALIGN

Most people are put off having orthodontic treatment to straighten their teeth because they don’t want to wear ‘metal train tracks (braces)’. Since orthodontic treatment can last between 6-18 months, wearing metal braces for this length of time can be a difficult prospect for most people.

I am one of the many people who has put off orthodontic treatment for this reason, until now.

Invisalign – clear braces

The reason why Invisalign® is so popular is because the aligners are incredibly discreet. They are made from a patented clear acrylic which means most people will not even notice that you are wearing them.

Unlike the traditional braces, Invisalign can be easily taken off for meal times and to brush your teeth. This means that there is no difficulty in the everyday tasks you take for granted.

I have decided to have the Invisalign treatment to close up the spaces between my upper canine and premolar teeth. Like many people in the UK, I had orthodontic treatment as a teenager AND like most people, my teeth relapsed and spaces developed between some of my teeth. This can be frustrating as having to go through all that treatment again with metal braces is something even I did not want to go ahead with. With Invisalign, the treatment is so simple and subtle.

Following treatment, retainers should be worn at night to ensure the teeth will not relapse again. The majority of my patients tend to have similar problems to me, relapsed teeth following orthodontic treatment as a teenager. Maybe this is because as teenagers, we didn’t listen to the orthodontists advice on retention at night, or maybe we just weren’t told about it? Whatever the reason is, myself and many other patients have found a simple way to re-straighten our teeth.
