It’s never too late – Transforming this smile with Dental Implants

Posted on 24th December 2023

I write this blog just before Christmas after completing the treatment for our patient. Our patient had her treatment completed just a few days prior to Christmas and I can't help but feel this is the best Christmas present she could have hoped for.

Patients often feel they may have left it too late to pursue a solution to their dental problems. Should bad teeth affect your life forever? Or is it possible to finally improve your life with a dental solution that provides long lasting results?

Our patient in this blog has attended our clinic feeling this way – as is the case for so many patients in a similar situation. She had suffered with deteriorating teeth for many years and had finally reached a point whereby she had a combination of missing teeth and failing teeth. This combination of dental problems was affecting her ability to eat and smile with confidence. She is in her 60’s and was feeling as if she may have left it too late to do anything about her deteriorating dental condition. She felt that maybe she needed to just accept the ongoing problems and continue this way for the rest of her life.

Once we assessed the patient we were able to inform her that we could provide her with a full set of functional and aesthetic teeth supported by dental implants. This would change her life. She would be able to eat, speak and smile with total confidence again. She would no longer reflect on her age and predict a negative remainder of her life, instead she would see the future as bringing her many more opportunities to live her life to the fullest.

This really was a big moment for this patient to see the potential for her dental health and her whole life ahead!

The teatment planned was to remove all of her failing upper teeth and replace them with an implant supported set of replacement teeth. These teeth would be made to conform to her natural anatomy and facial structures so that they look like they have always been her own teeth. The teeth are permanently fixed in place to provide yet another aspect of ‘natural’ for the patient.

Following the treatment the patient said her life felt transformed. She was over the moon with this and so were we. This treatment was completed in the week prior to Christmas, it really was the best Christmas present our patient could have hoped for.

We really hope she can enjoy her Christmas meals and time with family and friends more – especially now that she can eat and smile with total confidence!
