Have you always dreamed of having straight teeth? Do you cover your teeth when you smile? Hate having photos taken?
Many people have been unhappy with their teeth or smile, but have not wanted to wear metal ‘train track’ braces or have more destructive treatment with crowns/ veneers. Invisalign often provides the perfect solution.
It is never too late.
It is becoming increasingly common for patients of all ages to undergo Invisalign orthodontics. They tell me they have spent their whole lift avoiding photos or closing their mouth when they smile. They have even said they have enjoyed having to wear masks! Then they come to me wanting to make the life changing decision of straightening their teeth.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign involves wearing a series of clear aligners which straighten your teeth aligner by aligner until we reach the perfect smile. The aligners are made from patented clear acrylic and so they are as invisible as possible! They are very discreet and are removed when eating – so no more getting food stuck in the metal brackets and wires or missing out on the food you love!
More comfortable than metal braces
Invisalign clear aligners straighten your teeth without the need for the sharp metal brackets and wires, so avoid all the sharp edges cutting in to your cheek and tongue. As they are planned to precision digitally, meaning they straighten your teeth with small incremental movements, they exert much less force on your teeth making them significantly more comfortable and less painful.
One of the major benefits of Invisalign is the 3D animation of your treatment plan. Before you start any treatment, you get to see a 3D simulation of the tooth movements planned to get your perfect outcome. This is always a very exciting appointment for our patients and a great incentive to wearing the aligners. The digital planning means:
- No gooey impressions required; it is all planned with an intra-oral scanner
- You get to see what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment
- You can be part of the planning process
- It helps predict the number of aligners and treatment time required
As the aligners are clear, rather than metal, you get to see a visible improvement in your smile from very early on. As the teeth start to straighten, even when still wearing the aligners, my patients often report they already feel much more confident in their smile.
